What is Slugfest?
Every year our fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, NC Delta holds a charity concert event known as Slugfest that draws a very large following from the Chapel Hill area. In the past, Slugfest has raised anywhere up to $5,000 for YouthAIDS, an international nonprofit organization that works to address a very serious issue that continues to threaten the youth of the world.

Last year's Slugfest
Last year marked the 25th year of Slugfest. On April 27th, 2007, the last day of classes for students at the University of North Carolina, Sigma Phi Epsilon cleared their parking lot out, filled it with sand and had the concert from 3 P.M. until 12 A.M. The line-up was as follows:
80'Z Enuff
Two Step
Virginia Coalition
Last year's Slugfest raised $2500 for YouthAIDS, and with the help of the sponsors raised the awareness of the event to benefit upcoming years.
Why YouthAIDS?
A unique partnership between YouthAIDS and Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp), the largest national fraternity in the United States, has extended the organizations reach to college campuses and continues to facilitate fundraising and awareness campaigns among young adults from coast to coast. Here at the North Carolina Delta chapter we strive not only to support this worthy charity but to foster an understanding of the AIDS epidemic that affects far too many of the world's youth.
