NC Delta is currently gearing up for the fall recruitment period. If you are interested in fraternities at UNC or SigEp specifically, feel free to contact the chapter president, VP of Recruitment, or any of the rush assistants with any questions or if you just want to let us know your interest in potentially joining Greek life at UNC. Their contact information is provided below.
Make sure to check out the Rush Packet immediately below. It is a very informative document that showcases our chapter.
Fall 2008 Rush Packet
In order to join a fraternity at UNC, you must register for IFC recruitment. This can be done until late in the rush period, but sooner is always recommended. The earlier, the better. Most fraternities will use the official list provided by the IFC in order to make their guest lists for their recruitment events. You can register for fall 2008 recruitment on-line at http://greeks.unc.edu/
Some dates to keep in mind for the fall:
August 14, 2008 – Semester Opens – students usually come back to UNC on this date. SigEp will begin hosting events oriented toward potential new members after this date.
August 17, 2008 – Fall Fest – South Road in the middle of campus is shut down and all of the campus organizations line the road to meet and greet potential new members. SigEp will be here.
August 22, 2008 – IFC Week of Welcome Concert. This concert is currently scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM. The Inter-Fraternity Council (the organization of which most fraternities, including SigEp, are a part of at UNC) is hosting this concert and the headliner currently scheduled to play is the band Sister Hazel. All UNC fraternity potential new members are recommended to attend this event. All UNC fraternities are closed at 6PM on this day and all current members will be attending the concert.
August 30, 2008 – The first UNC football game of the season. It will be an evening game against McNeese State at Beautiful Kenan Stadium. Before the game, SigEp will be hosting a cookout that is planning to have a large alumni presence. Come by SigEp for this cookout and meet incredibly successful SigEp alumni.
August 31, 2008 – The Dry Recruitment period begins. Beginning on this day at 8:00 AM, fraternities may no longer have alcohol at their recruitment events or even in their chapter houses. The rest of the recruitment period will consist of non-alcoholic events. Additionally, most of these events will be invite-only so make sure you make effort to get to know the brothers before this date.
September 3, 2008 – On-line Registration for IFC Fall Recruitment closes. Make sure you have registered on-line by this date.
September 5, 2008 – Bid Day – All potential new members of the IFC fraternities will receive their bids on this day. A bid is a formal invitation to pledge a chapter. At the end of pledge period, a potential new member is initiated as a brother of the chapter.
