About NC Delta:

Sig Ep SealThe NC Delta chapter was founded on February 26, 1921, and is located at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The current address of the fraternity is 207 West Cameron Avenue, Chapel Hill, NC, 27516, located directly adjacent to the Carolina Inn. There are currently 36 active members and 7 currently studying brothers who are inactive. Most of the active brothers currently live in-house, and participate in intramural sports and a wide assortment of clubs. For information on NC Delta's rush, visit the Rush page located on the left.

The National Fraternity:

The national fraternity of Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded on November 1, 1901, at Richmond College. Over the past two decades, Sig Ep has recruited more men than any other collegiate fraternity. Currently, over 14,000 undergraduates are members, making Sig Ep the largest national fraternity. Sig Ep is proud to have the highest first-year member retention rate, with over 90%, of any national fraternity. As right now, there are 255,000 lifetime members, which ranks Sig Ep in the top four among national fraternities. The fraternity of Sigma Phi Epsilon is governed by the Grand Chapter, which is composed of undergraduate delegates from each chapter, District Governors, and the National Board of Directors. The fraternity is maintained by a full-time professional staff of over 35 people, who help publish a magazine, The Journal of Sigma Phi Epsilon, which is distributed to all members for life.

The Leadership Continuum: Building World Leaders

Sigma Phi Epsilon implements award-winning leadership development programs to live the Balanced Man Ideal, impacting 4,000+ members annually. It offers 26 development programs for new members focusing on personal development and lifetime achievement and organizes nine regional leadership academies to develop key management and leadership skills for chapter officers. Along with the previous, Sigma Phi Epsilon provides elite skills training programs for 120 undergraduates annually at the Ruck Leadership Institute to build lifetime members, pursue the Balanced Man Ideal, and mentor future SigEps. In addition, the fraternity recognizes 14 brothers who participate in the Balanced Man Quest to Greece, a full scholarship exploration to the source of Western philosophy, guided by classic scholars, and addressing the genesis of Sound Mind and Sound Body. Finally, the fraternity hosts the largest biennial, convention in the fraternity world: the Grand Chapter Conclave.

Educational Foundation:

The Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. Its program funding is planned to develop the scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and personal potential of college undergraduates. Guided by a 17-member Board of Trustees comprised of industry leaders from many fields, it maintains an annual donor base of over 5,500 and has benefited from over 35,000 supporters since founding. It provides nearly $1,000,000 annually in grants to support fraternity educational and leadership development programming, including the Balanced Man initiative, EDGE, Carlson Leadership Academies, Ruck Leadership Institute, and the Balanced Man Quest to Greece. In addition, it maintains over 400 chapter scholarship funds and endowments used by chapters to provide over $200,000 in chapter scholarships to members. It also provides over $100,000 in general scholarships and loans to brothers annually and accepts funds and planned gifts from alumni and friends that may be designated for a particular chapter scholarship fund, a special program supported by the Foundation, or to the general fund of the Foundation. The Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation prides itself on donor-directed giving and its respect and appreciation from numerous financial supporters.
